Curlleaf Support

Curlleaf is a paper-style planner for iPad and iPhone. Open your book, turn the page, and write, type or decorate it.

For help, email support@jimdoes.it. In the app, Settings → Report a bug lets you describe the issue and review an email draft before sending it. Include your app version and what happened; avoid sharing private pages unless they are needed and you want support to receive them.

Do I need an account?

No. Your book works locally and offline. An optional email account provides sign-in and account-password recovery. It is separate from your Apple account and local planner lock.

Can I start in another year?

Yes. Settings → Start or revisit a date lets you open an earlier date or plan ahead. Choose a Monday or Sunday week, or enable undated paper. Existing entries stay on their dates.

How do backups work?

Settings → Backup & restore can export a complete .curlleaf archive or restore one. An archive includes handwriting, typed notes, imported stickers and your personal PDF. Restoring keeps a recovery copy of the previous book.

Private iCloud backups are manual snapshots tied to your Apple account and available storage. They are not automatic live sync between devices. Keep exported files private: the planner password does not encrypt them.

I forgot a password

Recover an email-account password through Settings → Email account → Recover. The email contains a single-use code for Reset password. This cannot reset your local planner password or Apple account. If device-owner authentication is enabled for the planner, use Face ID or the device passcode to unlock it.

Can I bring my own stickers?

Yes. Open the Sticker box and choose Photos or Files & packs. Import your own images or compatible .curlleafstickers packs. Installed artwork stays available offline. Only import material you have permission to use.

What happens when I delete my email account?

Settings → Email account → Delete email account removes the active email account and its tokens. Your local book and private Apple iCloud backups remain. Previous account-service backup copies rotate as described in the Curlleaf Privacy Policy.

Pencil and personal PDFs

Apple Pencil requires a compatible iPad. Use Draw for handwriting, Text for typed notes and Stickers to decorate. When you finish handwriting, choose Done drawing to hide the drawing tools and return to browsing. Imported personal PDFs open in a separate reader; they do not become editable planner templates.

Can I change the colors?

Settings → Book colors lets you choose Lavender, Rose, Sage, Ocean or Warm neutral, or pick My color for a custom accent. The theme changes the binder, section tabs and stationery. Paper stays light with dark text. Your cover color and existing handwriting remain as you chose them. System, Light and Dark appearance are separate choices in Settings.
